PopUp Displays are Versatile and Economical Display Systems

By Rick Hendershot PopUp Displays are currently the most common form of low priced trade show and event display. They are used extensively for trade shows, in-store displays, conventions and even political events to create an attractive backdrop. They are so popular because they are very reasonably priced, and can be set up and taken down in minutes. A typical popup displays has only two main components, with a number of other popup display accessories available from most suppliers. The main part of a popup display is the folding frame. This frame is like the skeleton of the display and is normally made of either fibreglass or alumnimum tubes. Once the frame is erected it is covered with display panels -- either velcro-ready fabric panels that come in a variety of colors, or graphic panels made of a material like Duralex. These are durable lexan panels that have already been printed using a high resolution large format printing process. When shipped the frame is folded down to a unit approximately 8" square by 30" wide. When it is unfolded, this unit "pops up" to create a frame approximately 8' (or 10') wide by about 8' high. The frame itself normally weighs about 15 lbs. When erected like this it is stable enough to sit on the floor. Usually no anchoring or external support is required. The panels that cover the frame are either made of a special fabric that accepts velcro, or they are printed graphic panels. They are normally about 30" wide by 8' high. There are usually between 4 and 8 panels required to cover the frame, with extra "end cap" panels made of the same material to wrap around the ends of the frame. The panels are flexible enough to be rolled up so they fit in the lightweight carrying case that comes with the display. They are usually mounted on the frame by means of magentic strips applied to their back surface. These magnetic strips adhere to the magnetized bars that are part of the skeleton frame. The display becomes even more stable once the panels are put in place. If your popup display has printed graphic panels, then it is complete once the panels are in place on the frame. If you use fabric panels, then you will probably have a number of graphics that are adhered to the fabric with velcro strips. These graphics can be printed on a flexible lexan material, or they can be flexible vinyl -- essentially indoor vinyl banners. You can also use graphics that are printed on paper and laminated so they are both flexible and durable. The prerequisite for graphic panels is that they are able to be rolled and unrolled many times without breaking down, creasing, or fallin apart. Often the display is finished off with two or three halogen lights that attach to the top of the frame and illuminate your graphics. The entire display is constructed so all part will fit into a sturdy, lightweight carrying case. This carrying case usually has wheels so it can be moved from location to location by one person. And the carrying case often doubles as a podium or display counter, often decorated with wrap-around graphics that match those used on the popup display. A normal case for an 8' or 10' display is small enough to fit in the trunk or back seat of most cars. The entire package, including the display case usually weighs around 40 lbs., depending on the type of graphics and accessories included. One of the major advantages of popup displays is the ease with which they can be setup and taken down. Usually a popup display can be assembled by one person of average height in about 20 minutes. If you are shorter than about 5'6" you may need a small ladder to reach the top. Normally a chair works too. If a popup display seems like overkill for your display situation, you may want to consider an alternative like a number of Banner Stands or retractable displays. These units come in their own lightweight "over the shoulder" carrying cases and can normally be set up in less than one or two minutes. No matter what your special display marketing requirements are you are likely to find an economical display unit that is both portable and easy to install, and will greatly enhance the impact of your marketing efforts. Why Calories Don't Matter

By Craig Ballantyne Myth: I need to burn 300 calories each workout to lose fat. Truth:
Possibly one of the worst inventions for fat loss was the calorie-counting monitor on treadmills, elliptical machines, and stairmasters. Because of these, millions of men and women now obsess about the number of calories burned per session. You've probably even been one of those people, watching it creep up ever so slowly during a slow-cardio session. All the while knowing that you can wipe out a 30-minute, 300-calorie treadmill session with one fell swoop of the Krispy Kreme hand. Too many people are brainwashed into thinking that if they don't burn 300-500 calories per session, then they won't lose fat. After all, that is what you've been told time and time again in those fluffy fitness/fashion magazines. The problems with this approach to fat loss are numerous. First off, it's difficult to say if the calorie counters are even accurate. A story on CBS news showed that cardio machines overestimate calorie burning by up to 20%. Next, depending on slow cardio for advanced fat loss is relatively useless and at the very least, inefficient. It takes a long time for you to burn a lot of calories and one study showed that men who only used cardio training for weight loss ended up with a reduced resting metabolism. You are basically undoing the calorie burning by depending only on cardio. On the other hand, guys in the same study that used strength training didn't suffer a reduced metabolic rate. So what is the solution to burning fat in a faster, more efficient method? The answer is to burn fewer calories in less exercise time, but with a more intense form of exercise. And the trick to getting better results in this backwards approach? Your body will burn more calories after exercise (when you use intervals) than it does after you do slow cardio and your metabolism will stay high. Some experts refer to this as the afterburn effect. How do you do intervals? Well, you could sprint for 30 seconds and rest for 90 seconds and repeat that for 6 sets - using the bike preferably or treadmill if you are experienced with it. Within that short time frame the intervals will cause your muscles to go crazy with activity (I call it a metabolic disturbance). This crazy metabolism boost causes lots of calorie burning after exercise to get your body back to normal. The result is you would end up burning more fat and more calories in the post-exercise period as your body tries to get things under control. Now there is one time where you'd want to count calories, but that is when you are counting up and determining how many calories you eat per day. Again, you can wipe out an entire workout's work in less than a minute simply by eating garbage. Without some structure and discipline to your nutrition, there is nothing that even my programs can do to help you lose fat. So exercise nutrition control and interval training. These are the two anti-calorie counting methods that will help you lose fat and get lean. Craig Ballantyne is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and writes for Men's Fitness, Maximum Fitness, Muscle and Fitness Hers, and Oxygen magazines. His trademarked Turbulence Training fat loss workouts have been featured multiple times in Mens Fitness and Maximum Fitness magazines, and have helped thousands of men and women around the world lose fat, gain muscle, and get lean in less than 45 minutes three times per week. How to Get Rid of Ants - Consider a Less Toxic Approach

By Chris Wells Chandler It's starting to feel like spring in the Northern Hemisphere. After a long winter this year, it feels so good. Along with spring comes the beginning of ant season. Many people will be asking the question: How to get rid of ants? And quickly! Most people don't have to know how to get rid of ants during the cold winter months. In winter, ants retreat underground and are dormant. As the ground warms up in the spring, they wake up and come to the surface. Soon queen ants emerge and fly off to start new nests. Ants begin to crawl around again and people start to ask how to get rid of ants again. Tip: One way to get rid of ants is squashing any flying queen ants you see in the spring around your yard. Ants play an important roll in the ecosystem, but it's no picnic when they become pests in our world. That is when people want to know how to get rid of ants pronto! But it's important to know how to get rid of ants without poisoning yourself and your kids, pets and the planet. Too often, when people find they have to get rid of ants, they run off to the store for a can of toxic pesticide, come home and spray the ant. Whoa! Let's step back a minute and take a look at learning how to get rid of ants using a least toxic approach. What is a "least toxic approach?" It means you start trying to get rid of ants with the least toxic substance first. If that doesn't get rid of the ants, then you try something a little more toxic but not as bad as insecticide. You keep trying to get rid of the ants using progressively more toxic substances until you find something that gets rid of ants. The strategy that works to get rid of ants can range from doing nothing to spraying toxic insect killer. Why should we bother with a least toxic approach to get rid of ants? For one thing, studies are beginning to reveal the serious consequences of the overuse of toxic pesticides in our environment. Did you know that evidence suggests even genetic damage from exposure to pesticides? Worst of all, children are especially at risk! Why wait until science confirms a direct link to damaged genes from pesticides? By that time, the damage could already be done to you and your children. Adapt a least toxic approach to get rid of ants. If someone asks you how to get rid of ants, suggest a least toxic approach. Chris Wells Chandler is the author of

Glyconutrients: Fact or Fiction?

By Jerry Cahill There are eight saccharides clustered under the heading of "glyconutrients:" mannose, glucose, galactose, xylose, fucose, N-acetylglucosamine,
N-acetylgalactosamine, and N-acetylneuraminic acid. These glyconutrients, described as being the basis for multicellular intelligence, apparently form
molecular components known as "glycoproteins." Glyconutrients are attributed with many benefits. Those individuals who support their use make claims that glyconutrients heal cancer and the skin,
improve memory, treat diabetes and memory loss, and a number of other wonderful things. These varied claims appear to be a scatter-gun approach to marketing, in an effort to attract people to the use of glyconutrients. What is the truth about glyconutrients and their benefits? Is there any
truth to the claims being made, or are they all simply fiction? What is Known About Glyconutrients? The sugars that proponents of glyconutrients talk about are real compounds. They are actual nutrients found in many foods, some of which are not pure sugars, but, rather, are carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables. The
compounds that are attributed with the healing effects do have an effect in building the systems that glyconutrient proponents claim these substances
boost or heal. Some of these compounds are also necessary for combating the illnesses or disorders that proponents claim that they do. Some studies have been done in regard to the medical efficacy of glyconutrients. However, these studies were not run with live subjects; rather, they were performed in a laboratory using animals. Some benefits associated with glyconutrients were observed in animals under controlled conditions. Glyconutrient Claims are impressive. As stated in the opening paragraph, glyconutrient proponents make many
claims about their medical benefits. People who state that these nutrients are beneficial state that most people lack glyconutrients in their diets, stating that only two of these essential eight are available in today's foods. The claim being made is not that supplements made with these glyconutrients are miracle drugs; rather, it is that the presence of these
glyconutrients is needed in the body to combat certain illnesses and disorders. Each one of these nutrients is responsible for combating a particular disease or disorder, with one combating respiratory tract infections, another fighting tumor growth, and a third promoting brain development. Where We are Now? The claims about glyconutrients appear to be largely based on anecdotal evidence. It is not entirely clear what food sources provide the nutrients that the supporters claim to be beneficial, because these compounds exist within some carbohydrates as well as in pure sugars. Currently, little science exists for many of the claims being made. In addition, there is no commonly accepted operational definition of the term "glyconutrient" at this time, although, as with research, that situation might change in the future. All of these factors make it difficult to know precisely how effective they are and in what situations. It is also difficult to determine the
risks connected with glyconutrients or how safe they are without setting these parameters or doing more research. Regardless, however, glyconutrients remain and interesting addition to dietary science. It will
be interesting to see where all the claims lead down the scientific path. Jerry Cahill, publisher and webmaster. He has developed several health related web sites. Internet Dating as It Truly Is: Did You Really Think It Was Going to be That Easy?

By Laurence Baker I don't know what you've been told about internet dating, but it's not always as easy as 1,2,3. If you've searched around or thought about it much then you're probably aware of the upsides. Ultimately, there's no better, faster way to sort through and find potential mates that fit the "profile." You can take your search much further than you normally could offline. And if know yourself, what you want, and what to look for, you can get great results. This is the stuff advertisements are made of. But with these advantages usually come certain challenges that you'll need to work through. By the way, if you don't know yourself well and what it is you want, that's fine. Have fun with it and learn. Just don't expect to meet your match right away. You can use the internet to help you discover these things. What you can't do is use internet dating to smooth out all of your rough spots and work some kind of magic for you. This will not be fruitful. Because sooner or later, it all comes down to the weakest link. As an example, some people who live in areas of low population will get online expecting this to fix that problem for them. They end up blaming the service when they don't find a lot people from their area online. They were hoping for something that the online world can't necessarily help them with. So it may not provide the automatic solution you were hoping for. The question is, what does it allow you to do that you couldn't easily do before? How can this make up for the original problem? It's a negotiation. Sometimes you have to give a little before you can take, or in this case, before you can benefit from this new situation called internet dating. You have to ask yourself, how important is this? In this example, would it be important enough to drive a little further or arrange to meet halfway? Because this is an option that wasn't easily available before. If not, then there must be other things that are more important. What are they? Others become cynical and quit when their dates don't represent themselves accurately or honestly online. It can happen to anyone. It will probably happen to you. But it seems to happen a lot more to some people. There are probably two things going on there. One is akin to the inadvertant but habitual seeking out of abusive relationships. Here, the person is presented with signs of problems to come, but consitently overlooks them. Often the people around them can see something that they can't. Or it could be just a simple matter of learning from your mistakes. You don't get to use your intuition the same way as you would in real life, so you have to develop methods that will make up for this. What I don't hear about in these cases is any attempt to prevent this by changing the way they do things. This usually explains why they're getting the same results. It presents a challenge, but again, how could you turn this around by using the new abilities that internet dating gives you? One way is to be more direct with people in the future. This is easier for most people to do online, and as a result more common. So learn how to take full advantage of this benefit. It may take some time. But it's hard to give internet dating a fair chance until you do. What could you learn if you could ask people the kinds of questions that can take weeks, months, even years to get answered otherwise? Remember I said that internet dating can be the fastest way to sort through people? Here's the most common challenge of all... getting a decent response to your profile or emails. Profiles in general is a subject that's too big to get into here, so let me restrict this to email. The vast majority of this involves men. There are approximately 4 times as many men doing this than women. Add that to the fact that men initiate far more than women and you can start to see where response might be a problem. There are many upsides that can compensate for this. A common one is that men can spare themselves the indimidation factor in approaching women. And if they play their cards right, internet dating can be a real confidence builder. Chatting with women online is a skill that's not just useful for getting dates online. It carries over to offline situations as well. But I digress... To this problem, the basic answer is the same. That is, you have to change what you're doing to get different results. But that's a little to vague in this case. The problem is that women continue to see the same kinds of emails coming a lot of different men. For the more attractive ones, it's out of control. Under these conditions, you have to do something fundamentally different in your approach to stand out... and standing out is the only way to get fair consideration. Just refining your current approach isn't going to be enough if your current approach isn't working. Take a lesson from nature - evolution had the same idea when it gave male peacocks their colorful tails. What you do differently depends partly on you, because it's mostly just a matter of you being secure in your uniqueness. But until you are, and until you've developed your unique style around that, there are some things that you have to understand. Things that most guys who aren't naturals don't know. Once you do, your results will improve dramatically, reinforcing your authentic character instead of calling it into question. That's as much detail as I can go into in this article, but I'll leave you with this... If you want to make internet dating work for you, learn about what you have available to you, use it, experiment with it, get creative, and try new things. At the same time, you have to be aware of what's going on in your head. In other words, what are you telling yourself? Become aware of thought patterns that are working against you. If you catch them, stop them immediately and replace them with ones that serve you better. It's not so much what's online or what's offline that will determine your results. It's what's in your head. Laurence Baker is the founder of http://www.about-internet-dating.com, a site dedicated to providing honest information about the internet dating world including service reviews, tips, and specific, practical advice that's hard to find elsewhere. A Rough Battle To Smoothen Your Dry Hair

By Kevin Pederson Dry hair occurs mainly due to heat, the use of excessive chemicals applied on your hair and also by not taking good care of your hair. Every person's hair has a certain amount of moisture which preserves your hair and does not let it dry. When certain level of moisture goes down due to many of the common reasons then you have to take special efforts to maintain that moisture. One should keep in mind that excess experiments with your hair can cause problems and lead to dry hair. Some of the common reason why many face this problem is the excessive washing of your hair. Your hair need not be washed daily as this washes out the nutrients from your hair leaving you 'high and dry. So washing is not an appropriate solution for your hair on a daily basis. Use of hot dryers, hot curlers or any of the things you use for stylizing your hair also leads to drying. Swimming in chlorinated water without a head cap makes your hair parched and even drier. By using some of the home based recipes you can make your last longer with a better look. The use of mild shampoo is one of the initial steps to be taken when you are treating dry hair. Look for shampoos mentioned as 'dry and damaged' which would work in your favor. The use of conditioner is a must as this helps in preserving the lost nutrients and oil in your hair. This would give a beautiful look to your hair with the extra shine and bounce. Snipping off the end of your hair would help in preventing further damage to your hair. Exposure to sun can also cause dryness. You can use hair sunscreen to protect your hair. Use of some of the home made ingredients if properly blended can be very helpful. Beer seems to work wonders on your hair. You can spray your hair with beer once you have shampooed your hair. Mayonnaise is also a wonderful ingredient which brings life back to your hair as it is termed as an excellent conditioner. Kevin Pederson has been managing number of sites related to hair and skin care which provides information on Natural Cure for Dry Hair by using some basic home care treatments for soft and smooth hair. By Jones Kavin American spends $50 billion every year on weight loss programs and diet pills. Unfortunately, 22% of this goes to fake weight loss products. More and more people are facing the problem of obesity and a lot of them are resorting to weight loss supplements. While some people have benefited from these supplements, there are still a lot of people who are clueless on what type to buy. In the end, they are left frustrated without loosing a single pound. Worry no more! Here are some proven tips to help out weight losers wannabes when buying diet pills in the market: 1. Before buying diet supplement, consult a doctor. There are weight loss supplements that are available only by prescription. Do not forget to tell the doctor about allergies to certain medication and health history. 2. For over the counter supplements, decide what kind to buy. There are numerous types available in the market today. Some are appetite suppressants while some help the body to absorb fat. Also, do not forget to check the ingredients and carefully read the labels to avoid serious side effects like high blood and heart valve lesions. Also, make sure it will not react negatively on any other medications that are currently being taken. It would also help to have it checked by the doctor before taking it. 3. Keep in mind that all weigh loss supplements, even those that are prescribed by doctors, carry risks. It is for this reason that all instructions must be followed carefully and religiously. Stop taking the supplements if unusual symptoms are being noticed. 4. Choose diet pills that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration agency of FDA. These products are monitored and carry minimum risks. 5. Beware of over the counter diet pills that contain Ma Huang. Most of these products have severe side effects that lead to drastic weight loss. 8. Research the internet for diet pills that are proven to have side effects. For example, a Brazilian diet pill was recently sold in USA that contains drugs and chemicals like antidepressants, tranquilizers, and amphetamines. This pill was advertised as all natural but was proven dangerous to health. 9. Never buy Ephedra based supplements; they are deeply associated with strokes and death. 10. Look for supplements that contain essential nutrients like Omega fatty acids, B12, calcium, and liver oils which are very important especially to women. 11. Buy products that are endorsed or recommended by health professionals or body builders. 12. Do not depend on weight loss supplement alone. Eat healthy and exercise. Try working out in the gym for at least 3 times a week and get incredible results! Weight loss supplements have been in the market for sometime now but their effects in the long run has not yet proven. The Rich Man and Lazarus: Luke 16:19-31 - Part 2

By W. Edward Bedore SCRIPTURAL PROOFS OF THE CONTINUED PERSONAL CONSCIOUSNESS AFTER PHYSICAL DEATH
The Old Testament saints are pictured as being "gathered to their people" after physical death (see Gen. 25:8; 35:29; 49:29,33; Num. 20:24,26; 27:13; 31:2; Deut. 32:48-50): To be gathered to other people makes no sense, and no meaning, if it only refers to entering into an unconscious state of being. To be gathered to their people speaks of being joined together in a relational way. His child having died, David expected to eventually go to his son (see II Sam. 12:13-23): If he had expected to enter into an unconscious state, he would have had no such hope. David fully expected to see his son on the other side of the vale of physical death. David's words, "I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me," show that he did not have the hope of resurrection in mind, but to join his son after he died. Together they would await the resurrection while enjoying each other's company. Samuel's appearance to Saul and the woman of Endor (see I Sam. 28:3-20): King Saul was struck with fear over a coming battle with the Philistines, and the Lord God was ignoring his petitions for guidance. He became so frightened and distressed that he sought out a necromancer in a desperate effort to contact Samuel, the departed prophet, who had in better times been his spiritual counselor. It was a frightful shock to this woman when God allowed Samuel to actually appear to deliver a prophetic message from the Lord to Saul. No doubt she either planned to trick Saul or expected a demon masquerading as Saul to appear. Adding to her fear was the realization that the man who had come to her in an effort to communicate with Samuel was actually King Saul, who had a reputation for putting mediums like her to death. In his appearance Samuel had a recognizable human form and was able to carry on a conversation with Saul. His complaint about being disquieted (disturbed) indicates that he was abiding in a state of conscious bliss that was interrupted in order for him to make this appearance. That it is said he was brought "up" rather then brought "back" shows that he was residing in the lower parts of the earth. We believe that he was in Abraham's Bosom, or Paradise, which at that time was located in the heart of the earth in a place called Sheol, or Hades (see the Repentant Thief on the Cross below). The Calling of Lazarus from the Grave (John 11:1-46): Although the "how" is beyond our understanding, the fact that Lazarus responded to the Lord Jesus Christ's command to "come forth" from the grave speaks to us of the continued conscious existence of the soul following physical death. The Repentant Thief on the Cross (Luke 23:32-34, 39-43): As they hung on their respective crosses, one of the thieves who was crucified with Him turned to Jesus with a repentant heart saying, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom". Christ's response was to say, "Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise" (see Luke 23:39-43). We know that at the time of His death the Lord Jesus descended to the "heart of the earth" where He stayed for three days and three nights (Matt. 12:40) "and preached to the spirits in prison" (I Pet. 3:19). This tells us that up to the time of Christ's sacrifice for the sins of the world, "Paradise" was in the heart of the earth. He promised the repentant thief they would be together in Paradise that very day. This is the same place that is referred to as Abraham's Bosom in Luke 16:22. From II Corinthians we know that Paradise is now located in "the third heaven" (see II Cor. 12:1-4). Obviously this abode of the saved dead was moved from the innermost parts, or the heart, of the earth to the heavenly abode of God. Paradise is the place where the souls of the redeemed reside awaiting the resurrection. Before the price of their redemption was paid on the cross, it was located in the heart of the earth. But, after the full payment was made, it was relocated to the third heaven, or the Heaven of heavens, where God is. There they wait in God's presence for the time of their resurrection. The souls of all of the redeemed who have died since Jesus Christ's resurrection have entered into God's presence there as to be "absent from the body" is to be "present with the Lord" (see II Cor. 5:6-8). Jesus Christ's Direct Teaching that Departed Saints are Alive (see Matt. 22:23-32): Using a hypothetical situation, the Sadducees challenged the Lord Jesus concerning the resurrection of the dead, which was something that they did not believe in. The Lord turned the tables on them, though, by exposing their ignorance about the subject. First He explained that in the resurrection, marriage would not be a consideration. He then went on to confront them on an important issue concerning the saints who have experienced physical death. He knew that the Sadducees not only denied a literal resurrection of the dead, but also even denied the continued existence of the person after death. To reveal their error, the Lord quoted God's words to Moses at the burning bush, "I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob" (Ex. 3:6). Although Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died hundreds of years before the time of Moses, God used the present tense "I am" rather than the past tense "I was" when identifying Himself to Moses as their God. This shows that they were existing in a conscious state at that time. The Lord Jesus' remark, in the present tense, that "God is not the God of the dead, but of the living" (Matt. 22:32) reveals that they were still alive as He spoke, some 1500 years later. Being alive indicates a continued conscious existence. If this was true before the Cross, it is undoubtedly true of believers on this side of the cross. The Appearance of Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration (Luke 9:28-36): It could be argued that Elijah couldn't be held up as an example because, rather then going through the normal experience of physical death, he was caught up into heaven in an unusual way (II Kings 2:11). However, even though it was under unique circumstances, there is no doubt that Moses suffered physical death and his body was buried (Deut. 34:5-6). Moses, with Elijah, appeared on the mountain after Jesus Christ was temporarily glorified before the eyes of Peter, John, and James. They appeared in a recognizable form and it is specifically stated that they spoke with the Lord about His impending death. This event reveals the continued conscious awareness of those who have departed this life. That Moses and Elijah spoke with Christ about His departure, which was about to take place at Jerusalem, confirms their continued ability to think, remember, and communicate. We don't have a record of exactly what Moses and Elijah spoke to the Lord Jesus about concerning the death He would die, but there can be little doubt that their conversation centered on what would be accomplished through the sacrifice of Himself for the sins of the world. He would fulfill the prophecies about Himself found in Moses and the Prophets (cf. Luke 24:25-26,44-48). That Jesus Christ Will Bring the Departed Grace Believers with Him from Heaven at the Time of the Rapture of the Church (I Thess. 4:13-18): Those who have died physically are presently in heaven as their body "sleeps" in the grave. Returning with Christ from heaven (v. 14) when He comes for His Church, they will receive their glorified bodies first (vv. 15-16) and then those still living will receive theirs as they are caught up to be with the Lord (v. 17; cf. I Cor. 15:51-54). That Christ will bring them from heaven with Him can only mean that they are first in heaven with Him. The Martyred Saints of the Tribulation (Rev. 6:9-11; 7:9-10,14): While the believers who will die for their faith in Christ during the Tribulation are particularly singled out here, it must be remembered that their status is that of Kingdom saints. That is to say that their hope is to enter into Christ's Millennial Kingdom along with all of the other Kingdom saints. Their experience of being martyred during the Tribulation will be unique to the time in which they will live and die, but they will share the same general hope of all of the Old Testament saints. That they are found in heaven after having died indicates that all of the Kingdom saints who have gone before them are there as well. That they are pictured as asking the Lord to bring forth judgment on the earth indicates that they are anticipating returning with Him to receive their inheritance in His Kingdom (see Jude 14-15; Rev. 19:14-16). These martyred Kingdom saints, and all the others, who will accompany the Lord when He returns to earth, are obviously waiting in heaven until the appointed time. That they are specifically said to be wearing robes and bowing before the altar in heaven tells us not only that they will continue to exist in a state of consciousness after death, but also, that they will have a recognizable human form.
APPLICATION FOR TODAY The inter-dispensational principle that we learn from the story of the rich man and Lazarus is that it is only in this life that any man or woman has the opportunity to be reconciled to God. For those who die in unbelief, there is no second chance and there is no one to intervene on their behalf. To die without Christ is to be separated from God forever, first in the torments of Hades and finally in the Lake of Fire. As believers, this should move us with compassion for the lost and stimulate us to use every means available to proclaim the Gospel of Grace as far and wide as possible. We also learn from this story that believers immediately enter into a better place when they leave this life at the time of physical death. Knowing that this is true provides hope and comfort both to believers who are facing death and to those they leave behind in this life. The Lord Jesus' purpose in telling this story was to warn the self-righteous money-loving Pharisees about the consequences of trusting in the traditions of man and worldly riches rather than in the Word of God (cf. Mark 7:5-13; Luke 12:16-21). He also made it clear that people cannot be convinced of the truth through miracles such as someone being raised from the dead, but are to be convicted of the truth through the agency of God's Word (cf. Rom. 10:17). Those who foolishly reject the message of salvation through the cross will die without hope, while those who accept the gospel as true and place their faith in Christ are reconciled to God and receive the gift of eternal life. "In the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" (I Cor. 1:21). There is no one greater than "our Savior Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13-14); there is no greater message than that of "Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (I Cor. 2:1-5); There is no greater calling than to "the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery" (Rom. 16:25-27). This article originally appeared in the Berean Searchlight, the free monthly magazine of the Berean Bible Society. For over 60 years, the Berean Bible Society has been proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery. Online Dating 101: Tips For Success

By Cindi Barnett Online dating has been around for a decade or so and everyone who peruses the internet has heard about it. Just about everyone who is single has either tried or contemplated trying an online dating service at some time or another. Some who have been willing to try online dating have experienced success, fallen in love and even gotten married to the person they met using an internet dating service. Yet, others have horror stories to tell about the person(s) they met online and/or later in person. Others become frustrated because they can't seem to find the right person and give up Those who have had unfortunate experiences have nothing but content for online dating. When you really stop to think about, online dating is really pretty much the same as any other form of meeting someone new. Whether you meet someone online or in a supermarket, you strike up a conversation, decide if the person is an intellectual fit, decide whether or not you're attracted to him/or and then decide if you want to further the relationship based on the information you've seen and heard thus far. It doesn't really matter how you meet new people because the simple fact of the matter is that you can have both good and bad experiences in any venue while seeking romance. Where you meet them is irrelevant. The major difference online, is that all of the initial communication is done from the safety of your keyboard. By joining an online dating community you get the opportunity to shop for people. You browse photos, read profiles, communicate in forums, chat rooms, instant messages and send and receive e-mails. With online dating you are afforded a great deal of information gathering resources to help you determine who may be compatible for you. You can move at your own pace and initiate contact when you are ready. There is no pressure. If someone does attempt to pressure you, you have the option of "blocking" that person or reporting him/her to the webmaster. Conversely, when you join a dating site and present yourself for others to view, you are in essence advertising yourself. You're letting potential dates know that you are available and through your profile, you can set the criteria in which only those who closely qualify should contact you. You reserve the option to respond to or ignore inquires- however to show respect you should always at least tell the incompatible person that you are not interested. The bottom line is that online dating is an excellent way to meet new people. Whether your intentions are to find romance, marriage, friendship, flirt or just chat you will find others who share similar interests. As with any other form of meeting and dating, there can be downsides. The following pointers will help you avoid troubled dates and help to enhance your online dating adventures. LOOK YOUR BEST!
When you create your profile you should definitely submit your very best photo. If you are serious about meeting someone a photo is a must. You are 10 times more likely to be contacted if your profile shows your photo. Think about it. When you are searching for dates, you probably are more likely to ignore the profiles that don't contain a photo. Photographs are first impressions. No different than meeting someone new in person, you instantly decide if you are attracted to them based on appearance. It's just human nature.
Avoid the temptation of submitting a photo that isn't really you. One of the faults to online dating is that it is easy to hide behind a fake personal photo and misrepresent yourself. Doing so expresses dishonesty and insincerity.
It is important to be yourself when it comes to your photo. None of us can help the way we look. Don't overly concern yourself with your appearance. We all have issues with some part of our body that we wish looked better. Don't worry about the ones that place too much emphasis on physical appearance. You have to trust that there is someone out there that does find you attractive --and interesting-- and does want to meet you.
Just remember that a photo is worth a thousand words. It's important for online daters to have a visual image of the person that they are communicating with while deciding whether or not to meet in person. If you misrepresent yourself, chances are, the date is over before it even started. EXPRESS YOURSELF
Creating a profile is your opportunity to tell those who would be interested in you just who you are and what you are and what you are looking for. Keep it fresh and upbeat. There's also nothing wrong with updating your profile on a regular basis to tell others about recent events in your life. Utilize blogs and forums to keep potential dates informed of what's on your mind. You will no doubt receive replies. Following up on those replies is an excellent way to communicate and form relationships.
The importance of a photo cannot be stressed enough, but does a photo really tell others who you are? Of course not. A photo submitted on a profile is usually a head and shoulders shot or some type of action photo -- 'walking along the beach', 'hanging out with your best friend', etc.. Although those visual images are great, they do little to communicate your personality. The serious online dater is involved in his/her profile and spends a great deal of time expressing themselves in the vast features that most online sites offer.
Would you rather read a profile/blog that is mundane and standard or would you rather read about something that is real, maybe funny, maybe serious that you can relate to? Have a bad day? You're probably not alone --post it in your blog. Something unusual or interesting happen recently? Many potential dates may have had similar experiences which can lead to great conversational topics. Break out of your shell! Don't be afraid to let the real you come out. BE CAREFUL WITH E-MAILS
E-mail is a great feature to use to communicate with potential partners but be careful not to spend too much time using e-mails. Don't spend a long period of time sending e-mails back and forth. Within a few e-mails you should be able to obtain enough information about the other person as to whether or not you should take it to the next level and speak on the phone or even meet. Eliminating those who are not compatible with you quickly is the key to online dating and safety. DISCUSS VALUES AND EXPECTATIONS
Early in your contact with a potential partner, you should make it a point to discuss several values that are important to you such as religion. Your values and expectations must be communicated clearly and as soon as possible. Expressing your values and expectations early will help to eliminate the potential for a bad incompatible, relationship. For example, if your intention is for a short term sexual relationship only, it is important that your date understands that. If your would be date were uncomfortable with those terms then you do best to move on and find a like-minded person.
Failure to discuss values and expectations is a major reason why dates fail. LISTEN
While communicating with people, listen carefully to what they say and how they say. Unfortunately, there are many people out there that will say and do whatever it takes to impress you. If that is the case, then you are not really getting to know the real them. Listen to the spoken word and if you are meeting in person, pay careful attention to body language. A person's body language can tell you a great deal about them. You need to constantly evaluate what is said or written to protect yourself from being duped. The better the listener you are, the better you will be at identifying good dates and eliminating bad ones. BE NICE
It's hard to be in a good mood all the time and no one expects you to. However, you shouldn't take it out on someone who is trying to contact you. Whether it's an e-mail or something someone said to you in a chat room or forum, you should understand that everyone on the dating site is merely looking around and expressing themselves. In the case of e-mails for example, it only takes a couple of seconds to reply and say that you are not interested. You'll gain more respect from the sender than if you just completely ignore and delete the e-mail.
Being nice is contagious. If you convey politeness and consideration then you will receive the same. In turn, the person that you shed politeness towards will be more likely to be nice to the next person he or she comes in contact with. WARNING SIGNS
To avoid unpleasant experiences with someone who has been less than honest with you, the following warning signs have been identified. Always apply the warning signs while dating to ensure that you are not wasting your time. * If the word and references to "sex" is routinely used early during communication. If that is what you are looking for, then online dating has definitely worked for you. Else, you should probably not pursue that person, as most likely the person only is seeking a one-nighter. * Watch out for those who only give out a cell phone number. That could be an indication that the person does not want you to call his/her home because he or she is already involved in a relationship. It could also simply mean that the person doesn't own a landline. You'll have to evaluate which one is probably true based on your interaction with the person. * Someone who constantly talks about his or her divorce or ex-boyfriend/girlfriend. Don't waste your time with this person. This person is still emotionally attached to a prior relationship. This person seeks to find someone else to fill a void in their life. This person needs to resolve his or her personal issues before they can become serious with someone else. * Coming on too strong--Avoid those who are obviously overzealous. Those types of people include those who constantly send you e-mails and call your phone many times a day. It's great to be eager but there is a fine line between eager and obsessive. Obsessive relationships are very unhealthy and usually fail. * Avoid the serial dater. The serial dater is the person who seems much more interested in the concept of finding that special someone. The serial daters meets alot of people and is constantly online searching for new people to date. The serial dater really isn't interested in finding someone and getting on with a normal relationship. During your conversation with someone and they happen to confide in you that they've been dating online for 6 years (example), you should proceed with caution. Most likely the serial dater will become bored with you and move on. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE
Using your common sense is your number one resource to protecting yourself and getting more out of your online dating experiences and any other form of dating for that matter. Be smart, cautious and trust your 'gut' instincts. There are millions of people who use online dating services to find others. With that kind of representation, you can have a lot of fun and meet literally thousands of people. Have fun, be safe and good luck! Cindi Barnett is a contributing editor for Lavish Romance.com. A Step to Spiritual Greatness

By Paul Boyd What is worse than someone who always wins? Someone who knows they do and gloats over it. There is no pleasure in watching these types. What we might otherwise admire is destroyed by the even greater contempt we have developed for them. So what if they are good? If they behave as if they rule the world, then it is not admirable. There was a famous heavy weight boxer who modestly called himself "The Greatest". Before his peak he was certainly mighty at his trade, and had some admirable qualities. "The Greatest" he was not. Past his peak, with body and mind going to seed, his title was an ironic joke. There was nothing left to admire. What is admirable and praiseworthy is someone who, though excelling, is humble with it. They don't strut around with self-importance badged on their chest. They only did their best. In these people we can admire the achievement, and also the person. We praise them on two accounts. Albert Einstein, considered one of the greatest brains of recent centuries, wrote: 'My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit, who reveals Himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind' Humility is an essential part of a believer's character. We may get praise for something, but it does not do to bask in the glory and let it go to our head. Why should we spoil a good work? The Pharisees did some good works, but by proudly publishing their achievements "they had their reward". They got the praise of men they wanted. They even thought they would get a guaranteed eternal reward because they were that good! No doubt they were a little surprised at Christ's comments. Pride spoils achievement. It blinds us to our faults and makes us devalue the part that God has played. So let us not spoil our hope of salvation. Some of the greatest men in the Bible were only great because of their humility. Moses was the meekest of all the men of the earth - God's words not ours. He had that poor speaking voice which made him feel he wasn't up to the task. In fact, he was so humble and unassuming that he repeatedly had leadership challenges from those who felt they could do it better. Although he had good reason not to do so, Moses humbly took on the faults of others, and appealed to God on their behalf and his. What leader today would accept other people's faults? What leader today became a leader because of their humility? What voters today would vote for someone displaying humility? What God admires is humility. We can all achieve this. Being humble is within the grasp of every one of us, whether we are incredibly gifted or good looking or whether we devalue our own abilities or lack confidence. One way to be humble is to remember past failings. The apostle Paul did this, bitterly regretting his persecution of the church. Paul may have been the greatest of the apostles, but he called himself the least. Some of the greatest men of faith were those who remembered their faults throughout their lives. In fact it was the memory of these faults that produced a humility which made them spiritually great. Sometimes God brought about difficulty and suffering in believer's lives to help them be humble. Paul's thorn in the flesh is the clearest example. I wonder if some of the problems in our own lives are to bring us kicking and screaming to humility? The good news is that we can use our faults to create our own humility. Let us not beat ourselves over the heads because of them, because we are all forgiven sinners. Rather we should have a healthy appreciation of our limitations, and behave as though we appreciate them. One behaviour pattern that doesn't help is that of comparing ourselves with others. "Oh, we're are not as bad as so-and-so." So-and-so may well be chosen because we can easily match them. God's advice is that it is not wise to compare like this. If we compare ourselves with Christ, that will soon wipe the smirk off our face. Humility with excellence is wonderful to behold. Strength and power in the hands of the kind and gentle is awesome. Knowledge and understanding only used for good is truly great knowledge and true understanding. Only God achieves this. The real gentle giant. Praise Him alone and not oneself. Christ showed the way. "Don't call me good. No one is good but God". Compared to God, we are bits of dust and ash. We are like ants. Less than a worm. So why should we boast? The first step to spiritual highness is through our humble lowness. This step is one which we must all take. Are Friends Happy Being With You?

By CD Mohatta We all have different style of talking, laughing, smiling, responding and communicating. Some of us are a comfort for others. We enjoy being with some people and we dont enjoy some people. What is the difference between these persons? Why one persons presence enlivens the gathering an other person dulls it? What are the qualities needed to make one self socially popular? Smile -The very first quality is smile. When we see some body smiling, we feel pleased. And if the smile is without any malice it is more enchanting. Keep smiling. Keep your problems with yourself and keep your face smiling. Listening - when we dont speak but only listen, people love us. All of us have our own problems and need somebody to listen to us. Become a good listener. Ask open ended question such as - and after that? Why? And so on. That will encourage the speaker to pour out all to you. Have something funny to say - There is enough pain in the world. Bring in some laughter. Have a collection of jokes and make your friends laugh. The more they laugh, the more they will enjoy your company. Appreciate - have a word of appreciation for everyone. You can appreciate some body clothes, or shoes or what ever. Appreciate. Make friends feel good. To be friendly and to be charming is not an art. It can be easily developed by all of us. The only need is to pay less attention to our self and more to others. Make friends happy and they will love your presence. Make your presence the life of any gathering. Success is yours. "The Squeeze Cast" Small Stream Fly Fishing

By Joe Loughran When heading out for an evenings go at a local small water Trout stream, you might consider the following tips. I suggest you use a Double Taper fly line versus a Weight Forward line. This fills up the spool a little quicker with less weight and is better suited for the many Roll Casts an evenings fly fishing on small streams usually requires. Also, use either an 8# or 12# backing line if you can find it. Not a real big deal but keeping the weight down on small stream outfits is useful. Small stream fly rods do not normally require a very long casting stroke. A key to accurate casting with these short rods (5' to 7') is to execute both your back cast and forecast with a very short casting stroke, the shorter the better. Smooth acceleration to an immediate stop, almost like punching a wall, then hold the rod stopped until the cast is almost completely laid out....then drop your elbow (without extending your arm or body) to present the fly. Another tip.........to increase speed and accuracy very quickly.....AS YOU ARE EXECUTING YOUR BACK CAST......OPEN YOUR 3 LOWER FINGERS......control the rod with your thumb and fore finger. (keep the back of the rod handle up against the fleshy part of your hand) HOLD THE ROD WITH THESE TWO FINGERS THRU THE BACK CAST. .........Just as you are finishing your fore cast......SHARPLY SQUEEZE.....THE 3 FINGERS TOGETHER AGAINST THE LOWER PART OF THE ROD HANDLE and your thumb against the top of the rod handle......
THIS GIVES A FINAL, RAPID ACCELERATION TO THE STOPPING
of the rod.....SPEEDING UP THE LINE AND IMPROVING ACCURACY....TAKES A LITTLE PRACTICE BUT REALLY IMPROVES A CAST IN A TIGHT SITUATION. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you...I call this "The Squeeze Cast"....tricky name I thought......Best Joe @ Castitagain. David Ben-Ariel Faces the Aryan Nations

By David Ben-Ariel On Sat, 15 Oct 2005 08:42:36 -0400, National Director of the Aryan Nations/Tabernacle of Phinehas Priesthood, August Kreis wrote: I just want to ask, why our forum? Greetings August Kreis, Why not? My agenda is to serve the Great God of Israel, sharing the plain truth of His Bible and announce His soon coming Kingdom of God-Beings to rule on Earth and save all mankind from extinction. This clarity of mind, vision and purpose also includes serving as an emissary of Joseph (revealing the Israelite origins of the West). This God-given message must reach those high and low, rich and poor, regardless of race or religion. Our views are not the same from what I can see. They are not the same in that I am against throwing out the baby with the bathwater, dismissing all Jews as liberals or all blacks or minorities as militant and subversives. For biblical reasons I believe the Jews ought to return to the Jewish homeland (as both the Bible and Judaism teach) and blacks to Africa, as a general rule. This is out of love for God, His Word and all peoples, and in the best interest of every nation. You are pro-israel anti-Muslim. I am pro-Israel as far as acknowledging it as the Promised Land of ISRAEL not Ishmael, calling for an end to the Nazi-Muslim occupation of the Temple Mount, calling for the Temple Mount to be liberated of its foreign objects, its militant mosques removed, the world's holiest site restored as the Temple Mount, hosting the House of Prayer for All Peoples and Nations interested in worshipping Jacob-Israel's God, as any objective Bible-believer should believe and support wholeheartedly. Even the Koran confesses it's the Holy Land of Israel, as Sheik Abdul Hadi Palazzi courageously states, and we are anti-Nazi-Muslims, those Muslims who have permitted their religion to be hijacked by the Wahabi Islamo-fascists who continue to suicidally preach the genocidal policies of the Third Reich. They are "useful idiots" for the Aryans who would ultimately eliminate them, as well. We see the jews as the enemy of ALL races and a evil parasitic menace on this earth. Then you're not seeing too clearly and are in denial of the great blessings Jews have contributed to world civilization. Don't let hate blind you and rob you of all reason. The Jews are like everybody else in that they have conservative and liberal, atheist, agnostic and religious, good, bad and ugly. I actually am very aware of the evils some apostate Jews, renegade Jews, have cursed mankind with and have mentioned this within Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall: But renegade Jews, who became avowed atheists or professing Christians, projected their PERVERSION on others and captivated whole countries with wrong ideas. Those false Messiahs have held men hostage to their thoughts, and imprisoned others with poisonous ideologies! Thanks to Torah-Jews, those who follow and believe the Bible (as they understand it), God has preserved for us the knowledge and identity of the seventh day Sabbath and holy days (Romans 3:2). It's been said, and it's true, "More than the Jew have kept the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept the Jew." It's an identifying national sign that the "lost 10 tribes" didn't keep (Exodus 31:17). Sabbath observance brings recognition. God knew most of our Israelite ancestors, because of debilitating sins, would lose their minds and forget His ways, considering themselves Gentile (Deuteronomy 28:64). We would be sifted through many nations, but finally come into our own (Amos 9:9). God promised to restore our identity, and offer us repentance, before and during our final captivity! He makes possible renewal amid decay! - excerpt from Beyond Babylon, chapter 6, "Jesus and the Jews" Those Aryan Nations followers that follow the Identity doctrine, follow the Two-Seedline doctrine that has gone far forward from the British-Israelism message of the past. We not only have our own identity but identify todays "racial" jews as the seedline of Cain who's father was Satan or Sargon in the heavens. It is these, "Children of Darkness" and their minions that we are at war with. Those Aryan Nations members, who recognize our Hebrew roots yet reject our Jewish brethren as illegitimate, haven't gone forward by believing such doctrines of demons that teach contrary to the Scriptures (spreading disinformation that God would permit the frustrated Satan or his spiritual misfits to have sex with humans, falling into the pit, stumbling into the abyss of ignorance disguised as intelligence, being fooled that they're enlightened when they've descended into the darkness of deception), failing to recognize that the biblical Sons of Light and Children of God are those who worship our Great Creator God as Abel did, in spirit and in truth, and not as Cain who had his own idolatrous ideas, his tinsel traditions, his man-made religion that God rejected. Paul refers to true Christians as Children of Light, and Children of the Day (1 Thessalonians 5:5), making reference to light and righteousness versus darkness and sin. The Children of Light include the righteous of all races (Acts 10:34-35). Both John the Baptist and Jesus spoke against the foolish notion that race alone can save (Matthew 3:9). It is by grace we are saved. God has used our white Israelite nations as His chief instrument to serve all mankind, but being white doesn't make you right! We have the God-given advantage of being white Israelites, but we must be circumcised in our hearts and minds and not just our flesh. I'm quite sure you're well aware of our beliefs and they are far different than your own. Yes, that's true as far as the differences mentioned above. However, we're in agreement against race-mixing since God created each race and nation for His own purpose and we shouldn't blur the lines, erase the differences or remove the boundaries, but what's worse is religion-mixing: Illegitimate Children But instead of developing our relationship with God and staying sober and celibate, weve whored around and given birth to pagans (Hosea 5:7). Thats why God cant accept us as His National Priest since our lifestyle choice misrepresents Him! God doesnt want any part in our perversion. Since weve denied His natural order of things, He wont recognize our illegitimate children! He hasnt fathered them (Hosea 4:6)! God says we havent been humble and obedient like Abraham - the father of the faithful - but are "...a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the LORD..." and dont want anything to do with the truth! We dont want to be shown where were wrong, and we dont want to hear about it (Isaiah 30:9-11)! "So you shall say to them, This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the LORD their God nor receive correction" (Jeremiah 7:28). Weve orphaned ourselves and act like bastards! - Excerpt from Beyond Babylon, chapter 4, "Victims of Tradition" Paul goes further and speaks against mixing and matching pagan ways with biblical truths and speaks against such spiritual adultery and religious fornication and commands Christians not to even marry others with such polluted and diluted beliefs! Where's your condemnation of baptized paganism? (1 Corithians 10:16-21, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18). Why do you remain in spiritual Babylon as captive Israelites? Those who are truly God's People, hear and heed His command to forsake Babylon - the rest will suffer the consequences! (Revelation 18:4). We are also in agreement against reverse discrimination and racial double-standards, as again brought out in Beyond Babylon: Everythings Upside Down Part of the punishment to come upon our people was that: "The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail" (Deuteronomy 28:43-44). Today thats happening! Its going on right before our eyes! Mass voter registration, "social mobility," and "economic empowerment" are running us right out of our own neighborhoods, public office and the work place! The minorities in our midst have turned the tables and reversed the roles - with our help! How sick! Reverse discrimination is the law of the land. Quotas condemn and exclude our own people. The WASPs are being chased by the "Canaanites!" Minorities Out of Control The Gentile animals stalk our land, rob us of our children, and steal us blind (Leviticus 26:22)! Were afraid to leave our homes, our streets are unsafe to stroll, and our inner cities are a wasteland! Our prisons are overflowing, welfare is overtaxed, and the white mans overburdened. Everywhere we look, the terror and devastation testify were being CURSED FOR DISOBEDIENCE (Deuteronomy 28:15)! Our national energys sapped, our strengths drained, and our resources spent! Foreigners have exploited JOSEPHS BIRTHRIGHT! Our inheritance is almost gone! Weve forgotten "charity begins at home." Americas too young to die, Britains growing old and bald before his time, but we still refuse to go to our Doctor: "Ephraim (the British Commonwealth) has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is (half-baked). Aliens have devoured his strength, but he does not know it; Yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, yet (we still dont get it!). And the pride of Israel (America/Britain) testifies to his face (were confronted with the facts and figures - theyre right before us!), but they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek Him for all this" (Hosea 7:8-10)... MILITANT MINORITIES have a dream: supremacy. They only clamor for "equality" as a stepping-stone for their real goal: replacing those in the positions of power with their own kind. (Please notice I stress militant minorities. There are many minority members who arent out to harm or undermine Israelite culture). Multiculturalism is mad and destroys national unity! We do not promote anything on our website or forum which is contrary to our beliefs. You have been placed on permanent moderation and Jay Faber will allow only that which he decides to give commentary to. Otherwise your posts will not be allowed to be viewed by our members or guests. May you glean what you may and let the plain truth set you free. Long Live the Jihad! You slit your own throat when you support jihad and think you can contain it against our Jewish brethren. DEATH to the jews! May God's Light destroy the darkness that would divide us and may His Holy Spirit of Truth lead us into greater repentance, reconciliation and restoration (Ezekiel 37). Joseph and Judah are prophesied to get over our differences (Isaiah 11:13), repent of our personal and national sins, and enter into a renewed covenant with the biblical God of Israel and Judah, the God of the Hebrews. Only then will we become One Nation Under God, a truly United Kingdom. The Character Education Movement Takes on Pragmatism, Confuses it with Instrumental Reason

By Hans Hacker Recently I stumbled across what looked like a very succinct description of the pragmatist philosophy (or as I like to call it the pragmatist disbelief system"). In fact, Bob Shermans article provides a nice summary of core concepts of the pragmatist movement. He does what at first glance appears to be an admirable job of explaining the relationship of pragmatism to truth-claims, emphasizing that pragmatists define the truth of any particular proposition as a) not an absolute position and b) based on the usefulness of that proposition. The article is well worth looking over if you want to understand how those endorsing "character education" view pragmatism. It does not take long to realize that while Mr. Sherman gets some of this right, he has fundamentally misunderstood the implications of reasoning pragmatically. His mischaracterization is not unusual. I thought I might take the opportunity to clarify what is in fact the pragmatist system of thought and how it works itself out in the sphere of social and economic policy. The main difficulty Mr. Sherman runs into is a common onethe equation of pragmatism with instrumental reason, which is itself bound up with relativism (the belief that any set of life choices is as good as any other), subjectivism (morals are not grounded in reason, but individual choices to limit behavior for no other reason than we desire it so) and the pursuit of authenticity. Mr. Sherman points to corporate Americas emphasis on profit maximization as examples of pragmatism in action: Any time you see business leaders, politicians, or other social leaders emphasizing their vision for the future, they are focusing on results or consequences. If they do not emphasize objective moral standards that will help determine their means of achieving those desired goals, they are likely to be adherents to the philosophy of pragmatism. For example, businesses that seek to improve their profitability may attempt to ignore worker loyalty as well as health and safety standards. This characterizes many companies that move high paying manufacturing jobs from the United States to Mexico. Northern Mexico is the home of numerous U.S. companies for which profits is most important. This argument is a unique one in one respect - although it comes from a proponent of the religious conservative Character Education Movement, it suggests that the marketplace is not always fair (what has conservatism come to?). Let's set that aside and simply address the implications of the example as given. Is American pragmatism at its heart a self-centered ideology in which even the most callous and unfeeling policies can be justified as beneficial at some level (individual or organizational)? Is it a system that focuses our attention on immediate gratification regardless of larger consequence? I doubt it. Instrumental reason is the belief that any decision should benefit ones own narrow self-interest. Under this definition, gratification of ones desires (base and elevated) is the primary good, and other people exist simply as tools for achieving those ends. Thus, someone who endorses instrumental reasoning will interpret things like wedding vows (I take thee to be mine in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad) to their own benefit (I take thee to be mine so long as its good for me). Niccolo Machiavelli provided us with an early example of instrumental reason in his play Mandragola. Unlike the British version of Machiavellianism, in this play everything works out for the good so long as everyone pursues their own narrow self-interest and use others as tools to achieve that selfish aim. While the play proposes an ideal philosophy for governing personal relationships (as well as political), it also demonstrates how personal relationships are narrowed and attenuated when they merely serve the purpose of achieving some self-interested goal. At first blush, the idea of looking at results suggests the basis for a purely instrumental calculation. For example, on the surface it appears pragmatic to ask oneself if some action leads to the greatest personal benefit, and if the behavior does not, adjust ones behavior so that what is produced achieves the goal. This is not pragmatism. At its heart, pragmatism is based on the idea that any belief (or disbelief) demands justification since life is characterized by adaptation to changing circumstances, the choices we make must be based on careful evaluation of results achieved. In contrast, instrumental reason endorses the idea that no choice is based in reasonpeople should not be required to justify life choices using standards of reason, good or bad, or some moral principle having to do so might warp their sense of authentic self, subjecting them to external standards (which are assumed to be by nature arbitrary). As Charles Taylor puts it, those who reason instrumentally endorse the idea that . . . everyone has a right to develop their own form of life, grounded on their own sense of what is really important or of value. People are called upon to be true to themselves and to seek their own self-fulfillment. What this consists of, each must, in the last instance, determine for him- or herself. No one else can or should try to dictate its content [1] Thus, the only moral groundings for instrumental reason are the axiomatic beliefs that human beings can only be fully human when they act upon unconstrained self-interest and that no one should be required to vigorously defend any life choice. But, this is not a sufficient explanation of choice for a pragmatist because we cannot be sure that acting purely for self-fulfillment will at all times lead to full humanness, i.e., a fully developed human character, or any other measure of success (I believe it is quite natural for pragmatism to question whether this kind of self-serving authenticity is the only important goal). The difference between pragmatism and instrumental reason, then, turns on what is the process for determining what is true. As we have seen, instrumental reason is simply another form of axiomatic thinking in which central tenets for belief remain unchallenged. There are two reasons any good pragmatist should be mortified by the notion that we can achieve full human capacity by using others as means for achieving the end of self-fulfillment. First, reasoning instrumentally violates the idea that beliefs require justificationclearly the idea that no one should be required to justify choices precludes any inquiry into whether some choice or belief is useful at all times. Second, "true" beliefs are those that are ultimately accepted as the result of strenuous and attentive inquiry by the widest possible community of sincere inquirers. Instrumental reason negates the possibility of creating such a community bound together by the pursuit of careful inquiry and flexible enough to abandon the most closely held belief if circumstances require it. This is because community, or being in dialogue with others, is unnecessary for achieving the goal of fully developed human character, or (worse still, as noted above) can subject those who reason instrumentally to external review. Oliver W. Holmes provides an example of the difference between reasoning instrumentally and reasoning pragmatically. In the South leading up to the Civil War, most slave owners would argue that the slave culture of the South produced considerable benefit, in particular to them, but also to the nation through the production of goods for which a slave culture was supposedly ideally suited. In other words, the cost of subjecting a race of people to slavery was more than outweighed by the economic benefit to the nation. Slavery was a means for achieving national economic greatest. How could Holmes reasonably and pragmatically oppose the institution of slavery? Yet Holmes supported the abolitionist movement (at first on moral grounds), and left Harvard University before graduating to take up a commission in the Union army. Was he being unreasonable? Holmes returned from the Civil War with the belief that reasoning based on results could provide a better chance for averting cataclysmic events such as war than reasoning from fixed, supposedly universal principles ever could. Furthermore, anyone applying this standard (if it can be called that) would naturally agree that retaining the institution of slavery was bad. And, they would arrive at this conclusion not based on any moral consideration, but by looking at results. Leaving the devastation of the Civil War aside for the moment, slavery caused considerable social and legal turmoil in the states. Furthermore, it was never clear that slave culture was the only, or even the best, method the South could employ for contributing to economic advancement. Holmes realized that if a society wishes to apply the most violent methods for settling disputes over social policy, it should fail to engage in careful and strenuous inquire, fail to abandon long held beliefs when demonstrated to result in harm, and a hold fast to axiomatic thinking at all times. Holmes found those who fit this bill on all sides of the dispute (let us not forget the rampages of abolitionists). [1] Taylor, Charles. The Ethics of Authenticity. Homemade Lye Soap

By Sarah Freeland You can make your own lye soap at home; its really not hard to do. Soap is what you get, when you combine fat with some sort of caustic agent, using water as your catalyst. You wont need anything exotic to make your own soap; most of the ingredients you need may be as close as your grocery store. What will you need? For a basic soap, you only need water, lye, and some kind of fat and oil. For a more luxurious soap, you might want to add coloring dyes and scenting oils. You probably have water as close as your kitchen tap; some people prefer to use rainwater or distilled water in their soap.w What is lye, anyway? Its chemical name is sodium hydroxide; its a very strong base, so when you handle it. Make sure that you read the directions on the package of lye carefully, and following them scrupulously. When making soap, you might want to reference a lye calculator that way you know exactly how much lye is suppose to go into your soap; it depends on the kind of oil or fat you plan to use. The first step is to dissolve the lye in the water. Never pour the water into the lye; instead, pour the lye into the water. If half your water is ice, thats even better. Stir the lye to dissolve it; and as you stir, watch for the reaction that will take place. The lye can every start the water boiling, and if this happens, stop stirring until the bubbling stops. Then let the lye water cool down to room temperature. So what about the oil? Just about any fat or oil can be used to make soap, from plant oils and hydrogenated fats to animal fats. If you chose to use an animal fat, make sure it is clean, not rancid, has no salt, and is free of solid particles. The advantage of animal fats (like tallow or lard) is that theyll give you a denser soap. Plant oils such as coconut oils will give a rich lather; and olive oil soap will yield fine, silky bubbles that are soothing to the skin. Saponification is the technical name for the chemical process between lye and fat. It may take more or less time to trace, but when it does and your batch starts to thicken, thats the time to add coloring and perfume oils. Pour the traced soap into molds, and let it harden. It will have to cure for one to three days, and then dry a bit longer before you can enjoy it. How to Get Your New Home Construction Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natalie_Aranda]Natalie Aranda Deciding to build your first new home or that home of your dreams requires funding for the building process. Luckily, for you there are new home construction and stated income construction loans out there that are ready to help you get started to helping with the building costs of your brand new home. Both of these types of construction loans offer funding to you, but are different in how you go about obtaining them. To first obtain a new home construction loan, the lender that you choose must know anything and everything about the home construction that you have planned. Construction loans are available to you through national lenders like Wells Fargo or Bank of America or they can be obtained through regional banks or mortgage companies. The interest rate for a construction loan is generally paid on for 12 months and then they typically are replaced by a mortgage after the completion of your home. There are two types of construction loans. One is the all in one loan, which is automatically changed to a mortgage upon completion of the home. The other type is the construction only loan, which is due when the building is done, and then the loan must be paid off or replaced by a mortgage. Lenders will pay funds for the building of your home in several draws. This means that at different times during the building process a plan is drawn up that will state how much funding was used during that particular stage. Then it is sent to the lender and the funding is paid. Examples of the stages would be after pouring the foundation or framing the house. A stated income construction loan is a loan that does not require verification of your income. An example of a person who would be a great candidate for this type of loan is an individual who is self-employed. A person who cannot verify his or her income or someone who chooses not to share this information will benefit when applying for a stated income construction loan. The advantage of this type of loan is that the approval time is generally faster than that of other construction loans. The downside to a stated income construction loan is that the down payment and the interest rates associated with the loan can be a lot higher than that of other loans. This loan can be applied for online or through the office of the lender that you choose to obtain a loan from. Natalie Aranda is a freelance writer. Don't Hold a Grudge Against Me!

By Verona Raymond We all need to be cautious and not make quick judgements! The thing that really bothers me is being accused of something I didnt do and having that person hold a grudge against me. You know the feelinghelpless! Or you might think that somebody intentionally did something to hurt you, and you want to accuse or judge them based on your feelings. As a child, some of my friends secretly poked fun at the other kids in the neighborhood walking down the street and I told them to stop. When they finally confronted all of us, they wouldnt believe that I wasnt doing the same thing! Right, like they were going to believe I had nothing to do with it when the evidence was very clear! If you feel that someone has said or done something behind your back or even to your face, it still isnt a very good practice to treat them badly or keep ignoring them. The Bible warns that it is not right to judge people: Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1 I feel God is trying to say that we shouldnt judge others because we, in turn condemn ourselves because we are not perfect. We sometimes have done the same thingsin other words I would be an utter hypocrite to judge someone! The Bible goes on to talk about grudges: Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. (James 5:9). For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. 1 Corinthians 4:4. The only one who can judge us is the Lord. He knows the situation completely, inside and out! Much more thoroughly than what we are capable of seeing. So the next time somebody holds a grudge or accuses you of something, dont take revenge or get upset. Try to forgive and pray for them, and pray for God to give you the strength to stay strong. Dont let the situation keep bothering you to the point that you never let it go. Once you do forgive them, youll feel much better and you can get on with your life the way the good Lord intended. LDL Cholesterol: Are You At Risk?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Athlyn_Green] Athlyn Green Ldl cholesterol can result in potentially grave consequences in relation to coronary health. Your low-density lipoprotein level greatly affects your risk of heart attack or stroke and is considered a better gauge of risk than total blood cholesterol. Cholesterol comes in two main forms, LDL and HDL. LDL is believed dangerous because of how it affects the body. One variety in particular, lipoprotein (a), is thought to promote plaque formation that thickens and stiffens arterial walls. Conversely, HDL is beneficial because it helps to eliminate cholesterol from the body. You may be wondering how to lower ldl. What steps can you implement? A first step might be taking a look at how much meat and dairy products you consume. Saturated fats are derived primarily from meat and dairy products and can raise blood cholesterol levels. Certain vegetable oils made from coconut, palm, and cocoa are also high in saturated fats. You can lower ldl cholesterol by changing what you eat. The latest research suggests that certain foods play a key role in lowering ldl cholesterol. Avocados and almonds, olive oil, soybeans and garlic, mushrooms, oat bran, beans (kidney, pintos, black, navy), onions, fatty fish, and flax seed can make an important difference. Weight management is also important because excess weight is linked to high cholesterol. If you are wondering how to lower ldl, losing unwanted pounds is another step. Did you know that every time you exercise, you can lower ldl cholesterol? The admonition, get moving is good adviceespecially if your levels are not where they should be. Smoking is implicated. This is another habit that contributes to undesirable levels of ldl cholesterol. Making lifestyle and dietary changes can produce tangible results. Studies have shown that heart attack risk is decreased by as much as 25% for every 10% drop in cholesterol level. While these changes are part of the process of how to lower ldl, other treatment strategies may be necessary if levels remain high. Medications used to lower ldl cholesterol are called statins. Unfortunately, use of these drugs can result in serious side effects. Latest research suggests that if you are taking statin drugs you should also take Coenzyme Q10. Taking statins depletes this necessary enzyme and it is critical that you supplement with CoQ10 to protect your heart. While statin drugs may be effective in relation to ldl cholesterol, the list of potential problems is frightening: memory loss, cognitive impairment, severe muscle weakness and pain, erectile dysfunction, and heart failure. If these drugs cause cancer in laboratory animals, what might long-term use in humans result in? There are alternatives to prescription medication, in the quest of how to lower ldl cholesterol. Natural ingredients have been formulated to offer similar benefits as statin drugs but without the harmful side effects. Plant-based sterols such as beta-sitosterol reduce blood levels and inhibit intestinal absorption of cholesterol. Policosanol acts to lower [http://www.healthy-cholesterol-guide.com] ldl cholesterol and increases HDL. It is derived from sugar cane and beeswax and in clinical trials involving policosanol and a statin drug, polycosanol came out on top, offering greater benefits to patients. Oryzanol rice bran oil works to reduce total cholesterol and triglycerides. Green tea extract reduces the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle that is seen with high concentrations of LDL. Fish oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, guards heart health, and also may protect against degenerative changes in artery walls. The fat in fish actually lowers cholesterol, helping to prevent blood clots that form in heart attacks. A study published in the American Heart Associations journal Circulation showed that participants who took an omega-3 fatty acid supplement reduced their risk of sudden cardiac death by 42%! It is important to obtain the facts about how to lower ldl and then to follow an action plan to safeguard your heart health. Changing habits may not be easy but you will be rewarded in the long run. Always obtain advice from a qualified practitioner when undertaking any therapy in relation to ldl cholesterol levels.
